The itinerary for this tour has been designed by cyclists for cyclists wanting to experience some of the South Island's best scenery from the seat of a bike.

Day 1, Your tour starts in Christchurch with a warm up ride along the city's cycle paths.

Day 2, We shuttle out of town, past the Waipara vineyards, and cycle through dry rolling east coast sheep country.  We promise you will see sheep today, lots and lots of them.  After a 60km ride you deserve a well earned rest as we transfer to Picton for the night.

Day 3, Cycle along the coast through the Marlbough Sounds to Havelock, the Green Lip Mussel capital of NZ for lunch. After lunch we enjoy the downhill past the wineries of the Upper Moutere Valley before transferring to Kaiteriteri for the night.

Day 4, Brooklyn to Woodstock, great names for a great ride along a quiet riverbank road where the old tobacco kilns still stand amongst the newly planted apple orchards. As we get closer to St Arnaud for the night, the northern ranges of the Southern Alps and Lake Rotoiti come into view.

Day 5, Today’s ride follows the Buller River from its source to the sea, first through open farmland, past Murchison, famous for white water rafting and kayaking and into the Buller Gorge, with its distinctive limestone outcrops set amongst the temperate rain forest.  Birdsferry Lodge is our haven for the night, with our hostrs Alison and Andre.

Day 6, Coastal views are one of the many highlights as we head south to the famous Pancake Rocks at Punakaiki, for lunch, and onward to Greymouth for the night.

Day 7, Riding out of the Grey Valley we pass old coal mining towns before heading east towards isolated Lake Brunner and Arthur's Pass.  Today's ride ends where our quiet back road meets the main road at Jacksons, then it is up and over the hill to Christchurch in the famous Transalpine Express, a great finish to your holiday adventure in our "backyard". Our final dinner is in Christchurch, back where we started.  You will have challenged yourself, met new friends, and along the way seen the real New Zealand, that's what it's all about.

Day 8, The tour finishes after breakfast. We can arrange transfers, or even another tour!
